Preferences: Global Metadata tab

Main Menu: Edit > Preferences

The program preferences settings determine how Bersoft Image Measurement works.

The Preferences Window is divided into several tabs, click any of them to see its description, below the tab image.

Metadata definition

We call metadata  to structured data which describes the detailed characteristics of an image and its measurements. Typically metadata describes how and when and by whom a particular set of data was collected, and how the data are formatted.

When exporting measurements, either as HTML, CSV or Acrobat files, metadata can be embedded with the exported data. The metadata will include the exporting date as well as all metadata fields specified in the Global Metadata  tab.

If Include image metadata is selected, also metadata related to the image will be included. That includes metadata that describes how large the picture is, the color depth, the image resolution, when the image was created, and other data.

The metadata options specified in this Tab will be saved along with the program preferences, but also the list of titles and content can be saved and loaded from external files by using the Load and Save buttons.
